Thekkady is situated in the district of Idukki in Kerala, South India. It is a place of natural beauty, greenery, and thick forests. The region is famous for condiments and spices. Trekking, rafting, boat safari etc. are the main tourist attractions here.

There are many resorts, hotels, and homestays here. One will never feel bored visiting this beautiful place in Kerala.

I've heard quite a bit about Kerala; I think SQ flies there. Was deciding to visit Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram or Delhi few yrs ago. I opted for Delhi in the end as I wanted to visit the Taj. Well, I think I picked the right choice cause the Taj is magnificent! Agra Fort is equally impressive :)

Hello Shirley,
Thank you so much for this beautiful comment.

It was nice to hear that you have visited India and had plans to visit Kerala too. Well, you are welcome to this southern most part of India, the God's own country anytime :)

Many airlines fly here, Silkair has direct flights to Kochi (Cochin / Ernakulam). So just catch one and relax, njoy your flight, apply loads of sunscreen and we welcome your envoy here, thats it, cool !:)

Tajmahal is a very romantic place ! Hope you had taken plenty of snaps. Post it asap, if you had already posted send me a link.

Thekkady is one of the oldest protected areas in the country. The name Thekkady comes from thekku or teak trees while Periyar is named after Periyar, or the Big River. Explore more about Mannarasala temple, a very ancient temple dedicated to serpent gods.
