There are special food sections at the Hypermarket now.
Many new shops have opened. There is an NRI (Non-resident Indian) festival going on. Lucky draws and special discounts are also there.

You all certainly have some beautiful malls in your country... We have malls here too ---but most of our large grocery stores (food) are totally separate from malls... A few grocery stores are in 'some' malls --but not too many...

We have grocery stores in plenty here.
This is the first mall that opened in Kerala on a very large scale with international standards. We had to wait until 2013 to experience a class mall like this ! Elsewhere in India and in the neighboring countries many huge malls got opened some years ago.
We now shop here more because we get almost everything under one roof !

:) there were people everywhere. I had to wait some time to snap the pics avoiding them crisscrossing the frame.
This mall is the first in our state with world class facilities. So the buzz is great ! Some days it just overflows with people. Domestic as well as foreign tourists come here often. I am staying within walkable distance of this mall:) The entire region has become a hub of hectic activity since their opening. The Kochi metro station is coming up near this mall. The J W Marriot hotel will soon open adjoining this mall.
Lulu and EMKE groups have awesome presence and the brands have lot of visibility all over the middle east and north Africa (MENA) and Kerala. They are making their entry in other parts of the world too. Mr Yusuff Ali MA, the group's all in all, has topped the Forbes '100 Indian Leaders in the United Arab Emirates' list.
