Inside the museum life in the emirate before oil discovery is depicted with realistic voice and video. There is also an exhibit of a partially built 'dhow'. The Dhow is a traditional boat. They were very much skilled in building dhows during that time. So many artifacts also are exhibited. Many antique items are also on display.
The nearest metro station is Al Fahidi.
Dubai museum is an important place to visit in Dubai.

Dubai is a wonderful city. It is better to visit Dubai during the time of Dubai Shopping festival (DSF) because you will be able to visit all the awesome places easily. Weather will be pleasant during that time in December, January and February. Try to visit Abu Dhabi and other emirates like Ras-al-khaima, Fujairah etc. All within an hour or so journey from Dubai by road.
I worked in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates for a long time. Just a few months ago I relocated to Kerala.

Dubai museum is an awesome place to visit. I visited this place by Big bus tour. Big bus is operating Dubai city tours. They will take you all over the city. You may hop in and out. Cool !
